Dominican Rep. LNB round 10 best performance: Sydney Curry (by Hoops Agents)

American Forward Sydney Curry (203-F-2000) had a very impressive game in the last round for Marineros de Puerto Plata, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 27 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Reales (#5, 5-5) 104-91. Thanks to this victory Marineros moved-up to the 4th position in Dominican Rep. LNB. Marineros is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 6-6 record. Curry just recently signed at Marineros, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former Grand Canyon State University star has very solid stats this year. Curry is in league's top in points (3rd best: 18.8ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 10.3rpg) and averages impressive 59.2% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Jaison Valdez (188-PG-1995) of Leones de Santo Domingo. Valdez had a very good evening with a double-double of 17 points and 13 assists. Bad luck as Leones was edged by the higher-ranked Metros (#1, 7-5) 110-106. This loss caused Leones to slide to the very bottom (8) position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-6 record. Valdez is one of the most experienced players at Leones and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Chad Brown (206-C-1996) of Titanes del Distrito Nacional (#3). Brown scored 23 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He was a key player of Titanes, leading his team to a 87-83 win against #4 ranked Marineros in a game of the week. Titanes needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 6 lost games. The season just started for Brown as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader. Brown attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.

10. Luis Martinez (196-G/F-2000) of Soles - 18 points and 8 rebounds
